ZOMBIELAND DOUBLE TAP by Urizen

Ten years! Ten years I have waited for Zombieland to get another movie and finally it is here! Starring Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, and Jesse Eisenberg, the original Zombieland was a fantastic horror comedy. It knew how to perfectly balance the tones throughout, giving us plenty of laughs while making sure the horror was very much present. It even knew when to throw in a few touching moments where we could really feel them, but without bringing the movie down too much. It has become a much loved movie over the years, by me included. After a long wait, we finally get to see the continuation of our group’s journey. After this wait though, could Tallahassee, Wichita, Little Rock, and Columbus leave as much of an impact on us as they did ten years ago?    Thankfully, bringing back the same cast, Zombieland Double Tap brings our group to Washington to find a home in the White House. Little Rock, not thrilled with the life they live and wanting to be around peopl

TOKYO GHOUL ONE SHOT by Urizen

I have had ideas for a while of things I have wanted to talk about other than just movies. I’ve dabbled a little in anime reviews and plan more of those. As soon as TV shows I watch start back up then probably will touch on them. I would do new games if I could afford them, but maybe will try to work on something gaming wise eventually.  Well one thing I thought of is this: talking about different manga. Kind of review, kind of discussion, book club type thing. It would be neat to explore some chapters of a manga and get into thoughts on it. Just me rambling of sorts. Sometimes doing ones I have dealt with previously where I can talk about foreshadowing and different moments that occur in the series. Maybe even various feelings on where the stories go versus where I wish they would have. Then I also might do some that I have never read, saying my initial thoughts and where I hope things go from there.    Having decided to do this, I figured the best way to start is with on

FROZEN 2 by Urizen

With all of the hype surrounding Frozen, a sequel was inevitable. The only thing to worry about is whether it could be as good as the first.   I truthfully wasn’t sure myself, though the trailers looked top notch.   Now time has passed, I've seen it and will talk about it a bit. As Facebook has made life impossible, I am stuck having to do much shorter reviews for a bit. With that in mind, I won't be able to touch on everything I want to. Oh well, time to let it go and dive on into Frozen 2.    Taking place three years after the original, Frozen 2 rejoins Kristoff, Sven, Olaf, Anna, and Elsa as they have to embark on a new adventure. To save the kingdom of Arendelle, the group must venture off after a voice calling to Elsa to solve the mystery of both Elsa’s powers, and what is threatening the safety of the kingdom.   This movie is honestly really good.   I think it is either just as good as, if not better than the first. While I love seeing origins and groups c

DESCENDANTS 3 by Urizen

Fun fact, the Disney Descendants movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. While I had a lot of problems with the first one, there was a charm about it that got me excited for the second one and now the third. The movies deal with the kingdom of Auradon, a land created by Belle and the Beast by uniting the nearby kingdoms. They also banish all of the villains to the Isle of the Lost, surrounding it with a barrier that prevents magic. One day Belle and Beast's son Ben announced his first proclamation was to let four of the children from the Isle come to Auradon, being free from their evil parents and being allowed to have a fresh start at Auradon Prep. The one’s selected were Maleficent’s daughter Mal, the Evil Queen's daughter Evie, Jafar's son Jay, and Cruella de Vil’s son Carlos. Originally, as part of a plan to take down the barrier and let the villains loose, Mal instead starts to turn to the good side and ends up dating Ben. She and her friends learn what it is li

CHARLIE'S ANGELS (2019) by Urizen

Given I had other writing I wanted to do, and lack of knowledge on the subject, I had never intended to write up a review for Charlie's Angels. I never watched the original series, didn’t watch the remade movies, never played the games, so nothing really made me care enough about it. Once the first trailer came out for this one and I gave it a chance though, I absolutely wanted to see it. Something about it felt different. It felt better. So now here we are, with me watching it opening night.    Charlie’s Angels is seemingly a continuation of the original series and films. No longer just a single group, the Townsend Agency has grown into a much larger, international organization. Multiple teams of angels, guided by multiple Bosleys carry out various missions all over the globe. The movie follows two particular angels, Sabina (Kirsten Stewart), and Jane (Ella Balinska) as they must work together when a young scientist named Elena (Naomi Scott) blows the whistle on an ene

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD by Urizen

So….Tarantino’s foot thing is still going on, and is in full effect in this movie! I really debated writing up anything on Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. I ended up sleeping on it after seeing the movie before ultimately deciding to at least do something. Even still, it is one of those cases where you know that you won’t be writing much. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy the movie; in fact I had a pretty great time. I just don’t quite know how to talk about it. To say the least, it will be interesting, but let’s see how this goes.    Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as television star Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt as his stunt double, gopher, and friend Cliff Booth. The story deals with the two of them trying to gain the fame they once had in 1969 Hollywood. In addition to that we have Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate, along with a slew of other actors including Luke Wilson, Al Pacino, Timothy Olyphant, Dakota Fanning,

ZOMBIE LAND SAGA by Urizen

You know, last year I stumbled on a clip on YouTube. I knew nothing about the anime it was from. All I knew was it featured a rap battle between two zombie girls. From there my curiosity was piqued. As time went on, I kept seeing more and more clips from this show used in various videos and compilations. I repeatedly told myself I would have to watch this show. As per usual for me though, I put it off more and more until one day I got bored and finally gave in. With that, I found myself sitting back and being taken on this wild ride that is Zombie Land Saga.    Produced by anime studio MAPPA, and being licensed by Funimation and Crunchyroll, Zombie Land Saga is a fairly recent anime, running from October to December of 2018. It currently only has one 12 episode season, but considering its popularity and the way the show went, I assume we will be getting another in the near future.    The show centers around high school student Sakura Minamoto. Sakura is a huge fan of

THE LION KING by Urizen

I was roughly two and a half when The Lion King came out in 1994. I loved that movie. I still love that movie. I think it would be extremely difficult to find someone who didn’t. Even when people look at it and go “Oh it’s Hamlet” or “it is copying Kimba the White Lion,” not many people are able to say too much negative about such a classic movie. Now here we are in 2019 and a month ago I went and saw Toy Story 4, a few weeks ago saw a trailer for a live action Mulan, and now have just seen The Lion King. It is such a weird feeling.    I hated when the trailers for Lion King came out. It looked cute and I liked the idea, but everyone was throwing around “it’s not live action”. I could be wrong. I have been plenty of times before, but I don’t believe Disney ever said it was live action. People jumped on that train because it wasn’t traditional animation, and then everyone ran with it. The backlash from that still annoys me even now.     As critic reviews started rolling in,

GEMINI MAN by Urizen

Gemini Man was a movie I largely ignored when it was first announced. Truthfully I waited quite a bit to watch the trailer for it. Eventually I gave in, finding it looked like a pretty cool concept. The visuals and effects seemed amazing, so it became a must see for me. Unfortunately this movie had to release the same day as The Addams family, which seems to be how October is going to work. Ultimately Gemini Man won out, mainly due to being the less busy of the two.      Starring Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen, Benedict Wong, and CGI de-aged Will Smith, Ang Lee's Gemini Man tells the tale of government assassin Henry Brogan. Getting older, and having enough of the lifestyle, he decides to retire only to find himself being hunted by a mysterious hitman that looks exactly like him. Along the way he meets up with another agent named Danny, and a few old friends as they work to uncover the mystery of why Henry is being hunted and who the mysterious hitm
